Another tree goes down, this time in strong Kona winds. The heavy errosion continues to take it’s toll on the few remaining trees along the beachfront.

Today marked the end of an era for the Stable Road community, when at 11:45 Rope Tree fell to its death. We’d already witnessed several trees fall this summer as a result of the high levels of beach erosion, including hammock tree.

Rope Tree was a true landmark, and will be sorely missed. As a result, we are running a tribute page where you can enjoy some of our favourite rope tree moments and sign its book of condolences.
